About Moorland School

Founded around 80 years ago, Moorland is a thriving co-educational day and boarding school located in the historic town of Clitheroe within the picturesque Ribble Valley. We have an outstandingly beautiful site with more than 15 acres of grounds that are utilised for many activities and provide a serene learning environment. The main building is an imposing stone-built mansion house that is over 100 years old. Other facilities have been progressively added to the site including a purpose built sports hall and our fabulous new classroom and accommodation block which opened in September 2009.

Thanks to our Nursery, Junior and Senior schools, we are able to offer seamless education from 2 through to 16 years, ensuring consistency of learning and pastoral care while at the same time eliminating the worry and stress that often accompany the transition from primary to secondary education. This applies equally to boarders, since Moorland provides pupils with the opportunity to settle in one place through to GCSE level rather than moving from school to school.

Our enthusiastic teaching staff are committed to their roles as educators, mentors and carers while small class sizes ensure that all our students receive individual attention and support tailored to their needs.
