- Amazing Language AQA exam results
Well done to Kim who achieved an A* grade in her French GCSE. The AQA examination
board have informed us that Kim's result was in the top 5 out
of 138,508 candidates nationally. Overall, Moorland pupils achieved 4 A*,4 A and
3B grades in GCSE languages (covering only 16 entries). Well done to Rhesia who
passed both German and French at grade A. Well done to Aaron who achieved an A*
grade in GCSE German (taken in year 8) and Emma who achieved an A* grade in GCSE
French (taken in year 10).
The 93% figure (with a non-selective entry) is up from 67% in 2004. Please
note that the 93% figure compares to a national figure of 61%. Please also note
that our extremely high 93% figure was not boosted by multiple vocational qualifications
which many state schools are using to artificially enhance their results thus
lessening the importance of the core subjects................

2006 Results???
My prediction for the 2006 GCSE results is 100% (5 A*-C). 2006 will be an exciting
year with some excellent new staff joining the senior school. Our year 11, who
return in September, have all worked really hard throughout the last year. 2007
and 2008 will see the numbers entered for GCSE rising to well over 30; again the
target is 100% (5 A*-C).
Academic work at Moorland has always been performed at a high standard, our
children are never allowed to stand still. They are encouraged to work to the
full extent of their abilities and our teachers are all caring professionals.
Moorland is a growing and progressive school which celebrates the individual.
Talents are recognised and developed to the full.
