As a non-selective independent school, we enrol children based upon their behaviour which allows us to ensure that all children learn in a happy environment.
Children are fully assessed when they join Moorland to help us identify any educational differences or special requirements for individual learning styles. We also aim to identify all areas of strength within students. This allows us to deliver teaching that allows each student to reach their academic potential.

A fantastic end to the term with our Easter egg hunt! 🐰

Our older pupils have been busy in DT with their very own Come Dine With Me project! 👩🍳👨🍳
They began by researching recipes suitable for a range of dietary needs, before planning and preparing a delicious three-course menu:
🥣 Starter: Homemade hummus and pitta
🍝 Main: Garlic & spinach cheesy linguine
🍫 Dessert: Chocolate flapjack
Throughout the project, pupils showed fantastic teamwork-carefully weighing ingredients, following recipes and developing their chopping and food preparation skills.
A brilliant combination of creativity, collaboration, and practical learning. Well done, everyone!

What a fantastic day for our pupils at Manchester Museum! 🏛️✨
We stepped into the role of real scientists, learning how to classify animals in different ways and exploring a range of British wildlife. The children then became curators, creating their own museum spaces complete with fascinating facts and thoughtful questions to challenge their audience. We were so impressed with their creativity and knowledge! 🐾📚
Afterwards, we explored the wonders of the museum, from towering dinosaur skeletons and ancient fossils to incredible Egyptian and Asian artefacts. There was curiosity, excitement and plenty of “wow” moments throughout the day! 🦖🌍

The day was packed with excitement, from a lightning simulator to some truly hair-raising fun and even circuit-building anagram challenges! 🧠🔌
Lots of learning, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. What a fantastic trip! 💡

Early Eid celebrations at Moorland 🌙✨
With many of our children heading off on school trips over the next few days, we took the opportunity to come together and celebrate the upcoming Eid.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch from The Authentic Asian food stall at Clitheroe Market, followed by a wholesome play time in the sun and an hour of Eid and Ramadan crafts.
Thank you to Tahir and his family for cooking up such a lovely lunch for the children.
We would like to wish all those celebrating Eid a joyful and special time with family and friends.🤍

We believe every child has the right to a high standard of education which is why we are academically non-selective. We select students based on their behaviour and personal attributes and combine this with a dedicated teaching and pastoral team. We strive to educate your child to the highest academic level, whilst ensuring they stay grounded.
We want you to feel confident in choosing Moorland to educate your child, which is why we operate an ‘open door’ policy with regard to parental visits. Our dedication to education is reflected in our students’ success.
