As a non-selective independent school, we enrol children based upon their behaviour which allows us to ensure that all children learn in a happy environment.
Children are fully assessed when they join Moorland to help us identify any educational differences or special requirements for individual learning styles. We also aim to identify all areas of strength within students. This allows us to deliver teaching that allows each student to reach their academic potential.

Today was our Gingerbread House Competition, and wow every single entry was incredible! From creative characters to chocolate masterpieces, sparkling decorations and more, we are bursting with pride for all the children who took part. 🧑🍳🏠🎄👩🍳

✨ Reception School Trip to the Magical Polar Express! ✨
Today our children stepped straight into the storybook world of The Polar Express - steam train, conductor, Father Christmas and all! 🚂🎅✨
From waving their golden tickets to boarding the train, to receiving the first gift of Christmas - the magic bell, every moment felt truly enchanting.
They each came home with a festive Polar Express hot chocolate mug, wide smiles, and hearts full of Christmas magic.✨ 🎄 #polarexpress #polarexpressembsay #magicofchristmas #reception #schooltrip #moorlandmagic

🎅✨ Year 1 & 2 have been learning how to write a letter to Santa during their English lessons!
The children worked hard to use ambitious adjectives so Santa knows exactly what they’re wishing for this Christmas. They also learnt how to edit and redraft their work, producing beautifully neat final letters.
Once our writing was complete, we wrapped up warm and took a little winter walk to the post box to send them safely on their way to the North Pole. 📮💌✨

Our children have enjoyed small-group lessons, weekly, with Haylie and Sinead, building their speaking & listening, drama and performance skills. Intertwined in every session is the confidence to speak publicly and perform for a crowd -life skills they’ll carry forever.
We’ve loved watching our children grow under Haylie and Sinead’s expert guidance. Their skills, confidence and creativity have blossomed, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next term! 🌟

At Moorland Junior School, our football academy train with the talented and skilled Soccer HQ coaches three times a week, during the school day.
Whether they simply love the game or are already signed to a professional club, every child can benefit and it’s fully included in our school fees. ⚽️

We select students based on their behaviour and personal attributes and combine this with a dedicated teaching and pastoral team.
