Moorland Under 13’s

Fixtures and Results

Moorland School’s U13 team have proven their strength by battling through six tough encounters to reach the Investec ISFA Cup final, to be staged at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Thursday 2nd of March (1.15pm KO).

Reaching the final of the ISFA Cup has been a wonderful achievement for our U13s this year.  Naturally, we hope to go one better and win the tournament when we contest the final at Burton Albion on March 2nd. Moorland has had to beat some big hitters to reach the final and it has been an emotional rollercoaster along the way.

The same Under 13’s team are also registered to compete in the Gothia Cup in July 2017.  The Gothia Cup is the World’s biggest and most prestigious youth cup competition.  Moorland would love to go to Gothenburg already with a national trophy in their cabinet!

Match report

National Investec ISFA Champions!!!!!

Well done to the Moorland U13 Boys.

What an incredible achievement and outstanding performance by the Moorland Boys today. Moorland played fluid attacking football from the outset which overwhelmed Whitgift school. This team have produced some exquisite football this year but this game has seen them play at a completely new level.

“I am incredibly proud of all the squad. This was their best display to date and would put the great Barcelona to shame!”, Coach Charlie Jackson.

The team controlled the game through the first half with accurate passing and sublime movement to pick apart the Whitgift defence.

Whitgift, who have won this competition for the last 6 years, began the second half strong but Moorland showed their determination and fought as a team to create more chances.

Moorland scored in the last minute of normal time but the referee had already blown for a penalty. An unfortunate slip during the penalty saw the game enter extra-time.

Moorland showed incredible spirit as they reformed, picked themselves up and continued to press forward throughout extra-time. Their fitness and stamina shining through.

With 2 minutes of extra-time to play, Jay Haddow showed his cool by controlling the ball and volleying into the Whitgift net. Bosh!

The game finished 1-0 to Moorland School, a massive achievement – We are so proud of you lads!!

We must also say a massive thank you to the support in the stands. You were awesome!

Coach Jacksons Man of the Match – All the Squad!
