PRE-SCHOOL (3-5 Years)

The pre-school offers a spacious, stimulating environment with enthusiastic fully qualified staff. The large playing areas promote a fantastic learning environment by offering children access to resources of their choice. The routine follows a play based learning approach designed to educate children through activities based on their individual interests. Youngsters work and play in a stimulating, colourful environment, where are experienced and caring staff prepare routines that follow standard early learning goals. Children are encouraged to explore all aspects of early learning such as social skills, creative language, general knowledge, literacy and numeracy.

The children have access to two play grounds including a beautiful large garden with access to a vegetable patch, climbing frame and other activities set by the staff. As with all Moorland nursery children, pupils benefit from the schools tranquil rural setting, superb outlook and secure environment. The routine consist of indoor/outdoor continuous provision, planned activities set to challenge the children, group time with the child's key worker to establish how the chidden are meeting the outcomes set in the EYFS ( Early Years Foundation Stage). Healthy snacks such as fruit and water are prepared by the children to encourage independence.

Moorland Nursery School children have the option of joining the reception class of the adjoining Junior School ensuring a smooth and supportive transition with the continuity of familiar faces and surroundings.
