Moorland Nursery School : Policies

Moorland Nursery school has policies in place to ensure the safe and effective running of the nursery. Parents are asked to read all our policies during their Childs settling in period.

Aims and objectives of Moorland Nursery School

At Moorland Nursery School we aim to ensure that every child has the chance to fulfill their potential, by promoting the five Every child matters outcomes which are :- being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and achieving economic well being and by meeting the needs of all the children that attend.

ACCIDENTS

All staff at Nursery have received training regarding first aid, all accidents however small will be recorded in the accident book and parents will be asked to sign at the end of the session.

In the event of a more serious accident the manager / deputy will call an ambulance and inform the parents, the manager /deputy will remain with the child until they are in the care of a parent.

ILLNESS

Any child who is unwell should not be brought into nursery. If a child becomes unwell whilst at nursery parents will be contacted to arrange for them to be picked up. If your child has the following symptoms at nursery, sickness, diarrhea or a temperature parents will be contacted to arrange collection. Children must have 48hrs free of symptoms before they return to nursery.

The nursery will only administer medicines if there is a health reason to do so. Medicines will only ever be given with prior written consent from parents/carers.

COMPLAINTS

Complaints from parents concerning any nursery issues should be put in writing to the nursery manager; all complaints will be taken seriously and responded to within 28 days.
