Director of Studies

Mr Saleem Ahmad

The development of the curriculum has never been so important and with all the changes ahead it is vital that our Director of Studies lead our fantastic teaching team towards an effective and smooth transition.  Currently the whole school curriculum has been developed to adapt to the governmental changes and an internal progression scheme has been deployed, which goes further towards nurturing our children and harnessing their potential.

As the Director of Studies, it has been a pleasure working with passionate staff and happy children towards a common goal; making their lives more successful. We have made continual developments over the year and being able to implement a Virtual Learning Environment has been one our biggest. Students are able to access work around the clock and seek support in a safe environment even over the holidays, a time where quite often more support is required.

Our overall GCSE results of 55% in 2017 are an honest reflection of our non-selective admissions policy and the general fall in good GCSE passes in England this year.  Across the Country, there were weaker results than last year in many subjects.

In core subjects at Moorland, A-C grades were achieved by 76% in English Language, 100% in English Literature and 62% in Mathematics.  In the Sciences, 75% of Biology students and 63% of Physics and Chemistry students achieved A-C grades.

There were 100% pass rates in German, Catering and in BTEC PE.
