SPORTS
Sports are an integral part of the pupil experience at Moorland. Boys and girls have the opportunity to further their development during and out of school hours. The school runs teams in all the major games including Football, Basketball, Dodgeball and Hockey. Practices take place at lunchtime and after school. House competitions also take place out of school time.
MUSIC
Pupils who wish to pursue musical interests have a very varied choice. The school has a choir and offers tailored lessons for Piano, Guitar and Violin tuition. The choir is frequently displayed at events such as our annual gatherings. School productions also provide an excellent opportunity to exhibit the talent of many of our musicians.
SOCIETIES
Pupils have the opportunity to become involved in the Chess club, War hammer club, the Debating Society and the Drama club among others. The Debating team often competes in the annual Rotary Young Speakers Competition and have come away winners in recent years.
THEATRE
Moorland has a newly developed stage with full theatrical lighting and students have the opportunity to take part in annual productions.
HOLIDAYS
There is an annual ski trip and language trip to a European country. The Elite Football Programme also runs a selection of trips to venues such as football stadium and weekend team building campouts to name a few.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH
Pupils are able to complete the Bronze award from Year 9 to 10. Consisting of four main strands, pupils work with staff and family members in order to complete a highly respected award. Upon completion each pupil receives a high-quality book covering the main elements of their progress. All of which providing an interesting talking point at any professional interview.
