Moorland Senior School pupils

SPORTS

Sports are an integral part of the pupil experience at Moorland. Boys and girls have the opportunity to further their development during and out of school hours. The school runs teams in all the major games including Football, Basketball, Dodgeball and Hockey. Practices take place at lunchtime and after school. House competitions also take place out of school time.

FOOTBALL

There are regular lunchtime and after school football practices, which are run by our highly acclaimed FA Football Coach, Charlie Jackson. Children are put through their paces by taking part in drill sessions and games. There are fixtures scheduled throughout the year with the exception of school holidays. These include friendly matches against local independent and state schools.

LONG DISTANCE RUNNING

Practices are open to pupils from year 7 upwards and take place during lunch times. Run by a member of staff who also competes nationally, pupils are trained to a high level. Regional competitions are regularly entered.

BASKETBALL

Basketball practices are frequent take place during lunchtime and after school. The teams range from Years 7 through to senior. Fixtures take place against local schools and regional competitions are entered annually.

DODGEBALL

Quickly becoming a Moorland School phenomenon, pupils of every age enjoy playing Dodgeball. Practices take place during lunch time and the Dodgeball team plays friendly fixtures against other schools and clubs in the local area.
