Our 2006 skiing trip to Alpe D’Huez in France was a great success. 56
pupils, parents and teachers enjoyed superb weather and snow conditions. The 2007
school skiing trip has now been booked at a much better 3* hotel.
The cost is £640 (a 3% increase on the last trip) including transport
to and from Manchester Airport, return flight to Grenoble, coach transfer to Alpe
D’Huez, accommodation, food, 5 hours skiing lesson (with break, see below)
per day and ski & boot hire. A £100 deposit per person is required before
the end of February to secure a place. A further £75 deposit is required
before the end of April and full payment is required by Christmas (the deposit
is fully refundable up to Christmas). Please note that pupils will miss 6 days
of school. DOWNLOAD

The hotel’s public rooms include a large comfortable lounge with satellite
TV. The DMC bar and the adjoining sun terrace is a great venue for lunchtime snacks
or drinks. It also overlooks the slopes.
Ski Lessons
I have booked the ESF ski instructors for a 5 hour spell per day. This is
a change with respect to the last trip (which was 2 hours instruction, 2 hours
lunch at the DMC followed by 2 hours instruction) because it gives the more advanced
groups the chance to travel to other ski areas. For instance; a group could ski
out for 2 hours, have lunch in another village and then ski back for 2 hours.
Beginner groups still have the flexibility to ski around the nursery slopes and
return to the hotel for lunch, continuing the lesson after lunch.
Medical care
Everything has been done to minimise risk and the ski instruction will be first
rate, but!!!!! skiing can be dangerous. Particularly for pupils who try to ski
beyond their ability or mess around. EHIC cards should be taken and the pupils
are insured via out tour operator. The policy can be found at here.
Each pupil will be issued with a medi card. Parents should note that, if an accident
should happen, we may require a relative or guardian to immediately fly out. Any
costs incurred by Moorland (not covered on the policy) will be passed on to parents.
Please email Mr Smith if there
are any further queries.
