Founded over 70 years ago, Moorland is a unique school that combines the best aspects of traditional education within a warm family atmosphere, something that is very important for the development of each young person. The success of the school owes much to its small class sizes, this helps to build a special relationship between teacher and pupil producing excellent results.

The school is owned and run by Mr and Mrs Smith who took over the school in September 2002. Mrs Smith's parents, Mr and Mrs Harrison ran the school for 15 years prior to this date. The Harrison's retired in September 2002. Moorland has had a proud tradition as a school since 1936.

Anyone who visits Moorland will be impressed by the sense of happiness and the family atmosphere. Our broad based curriculum gives every child a chance to shine. Pastoral care is well managed and Moorland offers a superb range of activities, clubs, competitions and school visits to give each child every opportunity to take part and be challenged - but not overwhelmed!

Our thriving preparatory school welcomes boys and girls up to 11 years, the prep school is housed in a new 4000 square foot classroom block. Our Senior School ensures continuity of education up to a wide range of GCSE’s. Our enthusiastic teachers take their role as mentors and motivators very seriously producing a strong work ethic.

Our day pupils come from inside and outside the Ribble Valley area and we operate 5 minibuses with our own drivers. Boarding at Moorland is based upon the idea of the extended family and we offer full boarding, weekly boarding or even the chance for day pupils to occasionally board.
