The vocational ballet programme is for students who show exceptional potential in classical Ballet from age seven upwards.
Lynsey Kidd – Artistic Director
As an ex Moorland Pupil myself, I am proud to be one of the Founding Directors of the Ballet Elite Programme and as such I would like to extend to you a warm welcome.
I trained with the Royal Ballet School before being professionally signed to the Northern Ballet Theatre. During my career I have danced with other professional companies and have performed leading roles on stages all over the world, as well as having danced for the British Royal Family.
I retired from the stage as a dancer to pursue professional instruction and I have trained many students who are now performing with professional companies all over the world. I have created a purist Ballet Programme which concentrates 100% of the dance programme to just this one discipline.
Therefore if your passion is Ballet and you are serious, ambitious, driven and dedicated to the art of Ballet, then I believe that there is no other Ballet Programme as dynamic and as bespoke as that being offered at Moorland International Ballet Elite.

Simon Kidd – Classical Ballet Director
As a former professional and latterly dancing lead roles for The Northern Ballet Theatre I too have performed lead roles Internationally, as well as having instructed many professional Ballet students.
I therefore know that passion must be supported by dedication and a willingness to learn and work hard, constantly practising positions and routines.
Lynsey and I have dedicated our lives to the world of Ballet, we have had the most amazing careers and experiences, and we have taught many extremely impressive young adults during our careers. We now want to pour our knowledge into our own unique programme, one which supports, nurtures and encourages young aspiring Ballet talent, in small dedicated classes of high ability children.
If you are ready for an innovative, high impact and professionally dedicated programme, supported through an impressive and proven academic curriculum at both GCSE and A-Level, then I believe now is the time to turn your passion into an opportunity and into a career, by joining Lynsey and I at Moorland International Ballet Academy.
- Simon Kidd - Classical Ballet Director
At Moorland School students are able to thrive on the positive and inspiring atmosphere for learning that staff create. Classes are physically beneficial and instructive, providing objective and constructive criticism with respect to both technique and artistry.
We encourage self-discovery and nurture the development of each student’s unique artistic qualities.
Our aim is to produce dancers with a strong, clean classical technique. We embrace an emphasis on artistry, musicality, purity of line, co-ordination and quality of movement. Thereby our students embrace the demands of classical dance technique required of the professional artists today.
The programme is a partnership between parents, pupils and Moorland School our promise, as professionals, is to equip pupils with an outstanding environment for both academic and Ballet studies, whilst ensuring they are safe, happy and growing in confidence. We ask parents to work with the school in partnership, respecting our professional judgement and guidance; we ask pupils to make a promise to listen and work hard academically, artistically and socially, showing respect to staff and their peers.
